„Dark Patterns“ im Internet – gezielte Nutzerverwirrung

Immer dann, wenn es Anbieter im Internet den Nutzern schwer machen, für sie relevante Inhalte auf Webseiten zu finden, spricht man von „Dark Patterns“… Dazu gehört es zum Beispiel, die Zahlung für ein Produkt mit nur 3 Klicks zu ermöglichen, die Stornierung des Einkaufs aber mit einem Mehrfachen an Klicks so schwer wie möglich zu machen…

Dark patterns are user interface practices that intentionally degrade the user experience in order to shape user behavior. This is done to optimize for a goal whereby a firm profits in some way from the poor customer experience. Dark patterns are typical of monopolistic firms that have customers who have a lack of viable alternatives. They are also used by transactional marketers who aren’t looking to establish a relationship with a customer but simply want to close a single sale. Dark patterns may enrage the public and reduce customer satisfaction. In some cases, they are illegal.
